By far one of the most technically complex projects completed by DCM, the renovations of the Japanese Pavilion and Stroll Garden required incredible attention to detail, superior craftsmanship, and creative problem solving. Designed by Hoichi Kurisu, an expert in the Japanese art of suiseki, the collection of 53 trees train on newly hand-crafted sapele bonsai display tables and hand-chiseled granite pedestals. The new cedar pavilion trellis system with custom-made light filtering fabric canopy protects the specimens, some hundreds of years old.
