Situated in Puerto Morelos on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, this existing resort needed to revitalize its amenities and create a more memorable experience. To improve functionality and circulation, DCM turned the main walkway, which linked the lobby with the suites, spa and shopping area, into “Paseo de las Ceibas”, after the native silk cotton tree. Light filtering canopies line the path, and a newly created indoor/outdoor bar area brought purpose and life to the space by adding furniture and seating areas to the originally empty lobby.
