To improve access and control, this growing middle school needed its own dedicated entrance, loading/unloading zone and parking lot; separate from the connected high school. DCM designed the new entry and a two-story addition to hold classrooms, science labs, music rooms, administrative offices, cafeteria, and kitchen. The expanded gymnasium fits a new regulation-sized basketball court and bleachers. Although the building grew in size, the energy consumed did not increase due to the improvements to the building envelope and the replacement of existing HVAC systems.
