The Rodino Federal Office Building houses several government agencies, including the Department of Immigration’s Regional Center, the General Services Administration, and the US Attorney’s Office. Key components of this complex contract include security/anti-terrorism force protection upgrades, HVAC energy improvements, asbestos abatement, and interior renovations. DCM provided the design-build services to expand the primary vestibule entrance with a two-story curtain wall and internal blast resistant barrier. DCM also redesigned the first floor HVAC system with 27 distinct VAV zones using a reset control strategy that not only improved space comfort, but also reduced energy consumption. Received Merit in Construction Award by ABC New Jersey Chapter and a first-place national Excellence in Construction® Eagle Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
